A glitter-covered, gold-topped bottle of milk, and a little bird about to peck through and steal some cream. That is the whole story, told in Marrow's signature vibrant green and pink, and it is exactly the kind of moment she is beloved for: the mundane made magical, nostalgia with a wink. The glitter detail is applied in the printmaking, the bird adds the narrative twist, and the square 35 × 35cm format with its natural deckle edge makes it an easy accent print or a pair with her other small characters like the bossy dachshund of 'Return Of The Pint Size Dictator'.

Anna Marrow has been working as a printmaker, illustrator and image-maker for 20 years. She studied Fine Art at UWE Bristol, then Communication Design at Central Saint Martins (MA with distinction, specialising in illustration), and now draws at home and prints at Spike Print Studio, Bristol, working with household paints, biros, fine liners, pencil crayons and screen print. Most of her prints begin as biro and ink drawings in her sketchbook, are developed into collages, and later become screen prints. She has been commissioned by The Guardian, Selfridges, Heals, Polydor Records and the BBC, has been selected for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition (2024) and The Other Art Fair, and describes her concerns as "detail, specific drawing, surprising colour, composition, and believable story telling".
