Biography

Kristjana S Williams is an Iceland-born contemporary artist based in London who studied graphic design and illustration at Central Saint Martins, quickly gaining critical acclaim as Creative Director of Beyond the Valley for eight years. In 2011, she began creating fine art pieces, illustrating books and designing interiors and homeware items, bringing her distinctive visual language to collectors worldwide.

Her acclaimed artwork is inspired by nature and built through a signature technique of digitally and physically layering nature upon nature to mirror the symmetry found in all living things. Each piece is its own magical universe of exotic botanicals and vibrant animals, blending Icelandic heritage with Victorian engraving styles in intricate, kaleidoscopic compositions.

Kristjana S Williams's work has won numerous awards, including a D&AD Award, a Clio Award and first prize at the New York Festivals Grand Prix. Her art can be found at the Victoria & Albert Museum, in Penhaligon's perfumeries and in galleries and hotels nationally and internationally. Most recently, she designed the album artwork for Coldplay's live album 'A Head Full of Dreams: Live in Buenos Aires and Live in Sao Paulo'.

Kristjana S Williams's limited-edition prints and original artworks are sought after by collectors of contemporary botanical art, nature-inspired art and intricate mixed media looking for vibrant, imaginative pieces that transform any space into a world of wonder.
