A one-off, not a print run: 24 carat gold leaf applied by hand onto a 1960s vintage magazine page, the found imagery beneath no other piece in the world repeating. It belongs to Yap's gold-leaf nude series ('Tropical Nude', 'Ivy Nude', 'Fern Nude'), where vintage pin-up pages from the 1960s become the ground for botanical forms in real gold: her signature juxtaposition of vintage erotica, nature and precious material. At 18.2 × 22.5cm it is the intimate piece of the series, and at £250 it is also its most accessible entry: once gone, no second exists.

Originally from Singapore, Cassandra Yap is an artist and art director based in London. Her work often explores the juxtaposition between dark and beautiful subjects to create the surreal. Fuelled by her love of pin-ups, the female form and what she describes as an unhealthy obsession with vintage erotica, her photomontage halftone style images are dark, bold and humorous with a kinky edge. On her process, in her own words: "I start off with a rough sketch, followed by sourcing images from vintage magazines. It all comes together on the computer and then it's time to get my hands inky down at the studio where all the screen printing magic happens". Her work has entered the permanent collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum, and she has collaborated with AllSaints for their 30th anniversary (a Serpentine Gallery charity auction in aid of Shelter UK) and with Penhaligon's for their 155th anniversary.
