Jules loves old peeling wallpapered rooms and heavily graffitied walls that reveal decades of history hidden among each layer, and 'Dead Posh' is her attempt to capture that feeling: one of the few pieces where she's worked it into the piece itself. The background layers are packed with found ephemera: old musical score sheets, vintage French land registry certificates, 1970s sewing patterns and Hollywood stars from the 50s and 60s. And in something she says she wouldn't usually do, she couldn't resist perching the Hollywood starlet among the amaryllis flowers. Glamour, decay and graffiti in one composition.

Jules Wild works from her garden studio in the Cotswolds. With a degree in ceramic design and a background in marketing, she retrained as a floral designer over 18 years ago and built an award-winning wedding and event flower company. When that business stopped during the COVID-19 pandemic, she returned to her artistic roots, and the response to the work she shared on Instagram mid-lockdown was so positive she is now committed to creating art full time. She now sells through a variety of galleries, has exhibited at several major art fairs including The Other Art Fair presented by Saatchi Art. Her artwork blends the romantic side of florals with the grittier side of urban art and graffiti: a colourful, edgy juxtaposition of collaged, stencilled, painted and photographic elements.
