Why collectors love it

One of nine prints in Baldwin's 'Utopia, Delirium and Infatuation' suite, made in homage to Andy Warhol's iconic flower paintings from the 1960s. Baldwin takes Warhol's source material and reworks it in his own edgy style, introducing contrasting motifs such as birds, barbed wire and a skeletal hand. He describes the suite as "an entire new exploration into print" that "takes things to new places", and says Warhol was one of the first artists to inspire him at art school. This is the blue colourway of 'Delirium', a signed silkscreen from an edition of 20, printed at Coriander Studio and published by CCA Galleries.

About the artist

British contemporary artist Dan Baldwin (b. 1972, Manchester) studied at Eastbourne College of Art and Design and Kent Institute of Art and Design. Pop Art has been a major influence on his practice, alongside artists including Sir Peter Blake, Jean-Michel Basquiat, David Hockney and Robert Rauschenberg. He works across painting, limited-edition silkscreens, monoprints, ceramics and book and album cover art. His recurring motifs include skeletons, swallows, crucifixes, birds, trees and flowers, often placed in contradictory combinations that reflect on death, life and love.
