A fine art photograph of one of London's most iconic landmarks. Sambraus photographs architecture and urban landscapes, applying the design principles of fragmentation, repetition and montage to create varying degrees of alienation in his chosen motifs, so that single elements of the urban cacophony can be isolated and highlighted. Images of famous buildings like Tower Bridge do not only represent themselves but evoke the idea of "London" as a whole, with all its attributes, making his cityscape prints instantly recognisable.
Daniel Sambraus is a British fine art photographer who has spent many years photographing architecture and the urban landscape. His creative process involves walking through and observing city architecture, then returning to a subject when the light, time of day or angle is not quite right, often with a tripod for long exposures, in pursuit of the perfect architectural image. His work has earned him a place on the British Photography Awards shortlist.
