The Beatles and the Rolling Stones were an ever present musical soundtrack to Steve Rawlings' childhood. From the beautiful psychedelia of 'Sgt. Pepper' and 'Their Satanic Majesties Request', such music never failed to inspire a wealth of surrealist visual art. This unexpected diversity of collage elements remains essential to Steve Rawlings' art and has become totally integral to his working process. By constantly experimenting in taking popular iconography and fusing it together in striking and unusual compositions, Rawlings creates new and unexpected narratives. Here the Eggman rubs shoulders with the Devil whilst Jagger and Lennon look on.
